Mission Statement The purpose of the National Beta Club shall be to promote the ideals of character, service and leadership among elementary and secondary school students, to reward meritorious achievement and to encourage and assist students in continuing their education after high school.
                                                 Vision Statement
The National Beta Club, a student-centered organization, continually develops and nurtures individuals by providing opportunities and experiences enabling them to demonstrate the ideals of character, achievement, service and leadership in a global community.

To become a Beta Club Member:
Students meeting the requirements listed below will receive a letter of invitation after the first progress report is sent home.
                                                Requirements:
Outstanding Academic Achievement:  Students must maintain an A or B average. After one grade below this, they will remain on probation for one grading period. If the grade improves, the student is off probation. If the grade does not improve, the student is removed from the Junior Beta Club roster.
Exemplified Worthy Character:  All Junior Beta Club students are expected to be model students and citizens. No exceptions.  All Junior Beta Club students are of commendable character with an outstanding attitude towards their school, community and fellow man.
To become a Beta Club Officer:
You must be able to arrive at school by 7:15 for meetings with the sponsor (s).
You must write an essay on why you want to be an officer and what qualifications and or experiences you have that will make you outstanding for the position you want.
A parent/guardian must sign your essay along with two other adults [these can be previous teachers] who are willing to be a reference/referral for your ability and character in becoming an officer.
There will be a review process in selecting the officers.  All 5th grade teachers will be a part of this, along with other faculty members within J.W. Wiseman.  This will be an equitable process.

Essays are due to Ms. B by September 29th
